THE PROJECT
Located south of Perth, Baldivis Boarding Kennels is one is one of WA’s leading pet boarding facilities. The ultimate peace of mind for pet owners while on holidays, the centre was able to give its canine and feline guests an even better experience after upgrading its facilities with Fielders Endurance Sheds.
The completed project features two specially-designed structures; one to serve as an office/admin space and the other containing pet boarding ‘suites’. Sized between 10-18 square metres, the pet accommodation includes a family cattery and luxury, premium and standard dog kennels. They also feature easy indoor and outdoor access to an open area for play dates; some even have their own TV and reverse cycle air-conditioning. Now that’s five-star treatment!
HOW THEY DID IT
Fielders Endurance Sheds was selected by the architect, Therian, as the solution for this project. Work on the project included frequent visits to the site, where Fielders Endurance engineers worked closely with Therian and the contractor, All Style Sheds, to make sure everything was up to scratch and built to meet the client’s design requirements.
NOTES FOR YOUR PROJECT
The team at Baldivis Boarding Kennels & Cattery had some important non-negotiables when it came to design. The architect and builder worked closely to meet each of these expectations by customising the Fielders Endurance design where needed.
- As this shed would be housing animals, it was essential that ample natural light reflected into the kennels but without excessive sunlight that would cause discomfort.
- The design also took noise considerations, such as dog barking, into account.
- The finished design also shows it’s possible to create a versatile indoor/outdoor space in commercial shed applications.
